Privacy Policy
Dr.Phone ("the App") is a diagnostics utility developed by N3O Solutions. This policy explains what data the App accesses, why, and what happens to it. We built Dr.Phone to run its tests on your device — there is no Dr.Phone account, no server-side profile, and no cloud sync of your diagnostic history.
What Dr.Phone does NOT do
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not upload your battery history, benchmark scores, or test results to any server.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
On-device diagnostics
To run its hardware tests, Dr.Phone requests the following permissions. Each is used only for the specific test named, and the results are stored locally on your device:
| Permission | Why Dr.Phone asks |
|---|---|
| Camera | Test the front and rear camera systems |
| Microphone | Verify audio recording quality |
| Face ID | Confirm the biometric sensor responds correctly |
| Motion & Fitness | Read the gyroscope and accelerometer for the sensor test |
| Location (While Using) | Verify GPS accuracy and the altimeter |
| Bluetooth | Scan for nearby devices and test Bluetooth hardware |
| Local Network | Discover and diagnose devices on your Wi-Fi network (Net Tools) |
| Photo Library | Scan for large videos, screenshots and similar photos so you can free up space — nothing is uploaded or shared |
Technician Mode & PDF Reports
Technician Mode lets you enter a client's name, phone number, and ticket number while running diagnostics, then export a PDF report. That information is used only to generate the PDF on your device. It is never transmitted to us — the report leaves your device only when you choose to share it yourself (Mail, AirDrop, Messages, etc.).
Net Tools
Some Net Tools features (DNS Lookup, WHOIS, IP Geolocation, HTTP Inspector, SSL Inspector) send the specific IP address, domain, or URL you enter to a third-party diagnostic API (api.ipify.org, api.hackertarget.com, or the destination you specify) in order to fetch the result. Only the query you initiate is sent — no other data on your device is attached or transmitted. Local network scanning (IP Scanner, Ping, Traceroute, Port Scanner) stays entirely within your own Wi-Fi network and is never sent to us.
Advertising
The free version of Dr.Phone shows ads served by Google AdMob. On your first launch, Google's User Messaging Platform presents a consent form (required under GDPR/ATT) asking whether we may use your device's advertising identifier for personalized ads. You can decline and still use the free app with non-personalized ads. Dr.Phone Pro removes all ads entirely. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how AdMob handles data.
In-App Purchases
Dr.Phone Pro (one-time purchase) and tip jar purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Dr.Phone never sees or stores your payment card details — Apple handles billing per its own privacy policy.
Data Security
Since diagnostic history, PDF reports, and settings are stored locally in your device's sandboxed storage, they are protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and, where applicable, your device's passcode/biometric lock.
Children's Privacy
Dr.Phone is a general-audience utility app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Dr.Phone's features evolve. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
